LUCASARTS SWINGS THE LIGHTSABER AXE All major gaming news sites are reporting that Lucasarts new president Paul Meegan is swinging the axe and cancelling high profile sequels, havign only be in the job 2 months. On top of that The Force Unleashed II has been Cancelled for PSP. Originally scheduled to ship simultaneously with versions for DS, iPhone, PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii in October.

Also of concern for Australian Gaming developers, are rumours that the majority of “external” game development is coming to an end, after the release of BioWare’s Old Republic MMO. I HAVE A BAD FEELING ABOUT THIS!!!

Star Wars Saga on BluRay in 2011 The official word from George Lucas himself, announced at Celebration V only hours ago, is that The Star Wars Saga; Episodes I to VI, will be released on BluRay Disc in 2011. No details are known about the boxed set yet, but it is said to include some mighty impressive stuff, that's been hidden away in Lucas' archives for so many years now and has only recently been (re)discovered.

Fans at Celebration V were treated to something quite unexpected. The much talked about, deleted scene from Return of the Jedi, where Luke Skywalker is seen constructing his green Lightsaber. This 56 second scene, was shown to attendees, who erupted into loud cheers and thunderous applause. Yoda Reveal for TFU II While eagle-eyed Star Wars fans, with their ears to the ground, already knew that Jedi Master Yoda, was set to appear in THE FORCE UNLEASHED II, we may now officially reveal to Mousedroid readers that not only Yoda, but fan favorite Bounty Hunter Boba Fett, will also appear in the sequel, to the fastest selling Star Wars game on the planet.

Several days ago, our very own reporter Mike S, secretly infiltrated a media only event, held at an undisclosed location, somewhere in the galactic center. During the tumultuous mission he was treated to several cut-scenes and was even treated to some actual hands-on game play. The very first level Escape From Kamino is packed full of surprises, including powerful enemies Imperial Melee Units and a Force Power mysteriously absent from the first installment, Jedi Mind Trick. Here's where a player is able to make an Imperial Stormtrooper, question why he's even fighting and jump through a window to his doom.

Set for release on October 26th 2010, The Force Unleashed II is sure to smash more records and maybe even a screen or two, out of rage. Players will visit classic locations such as Dagobah, as well as locations seen in the prequels, such as Imperial Controlled Cato Nemoidia and of course, the watery world of Kamino.
